High Wycombe Counselling Services

Sometimes life can be difficult and leave us feeling anxious, helpless or distressed. You may be feeling ashamed, rejected or isolated and don’t know where to turn for help. Maybe you want to break self-destructive thought patterns or behaviour that affects your daily life and relationships.

Counselling can offer you a safe place to explore issues and feelings without any pressure or judgement. It can give you the time and space needed to understand issues and allows the opportunity to gain a better understanding of yourself, your current problems and the relationships that you share with others.

Working in a friendly and informal way, I hope to provide a warm and respectful environment where you can relax and be yourself. I won’t criticise, judge or trivialise your issues and will always endeavour to work at a speed that is right for you.

Finding the right counsellor can be difficult, especially if you have not experienced counselling before. It is natural that we connect with some people better than others and it’s important that you do not feel pressured or obliged to enter into a counselling relationship that does not feel right for you. I am happy to talk over the phone to discuss how I can help and, hopefully, you will be able to get a sense of who I am and whether you would like to work with me.

My Approach

The person-centred counselling approach is a respectful, non-directive and unthreatening method that puts the client at the centre of the counselling process. It believes that the client knows what they need to talk about and it provides a supportive environment where the client is encouraged to find their own answers.

I believe that this non-directive approach to counselling encourages greater self-awareness and self-confidence and can lead to positive and lasting change.
